(Liberty Bell) – During the 2020 presidential campaign, unions, for the most part, went all in for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Now they’re feeling firsthand just how much Biden and Harris care about the blue-collared, union working men and women in the US and even Canada.
Barack Obama was certainly right when he famously said that elections have consequences. The unions will now have to suffer under the consequences of their support for Joe Biden.
The tragic part is, while union higher-ups were in support of Biden, many of their actual workers supported President Trump. They were smart enough and informed enough to see that Joe Biden would not, in reality, be good for their futures and they were right.
On his very first day in office, Joe Biden sent the message loud and clear: good-paying union jobs are of no consequence to him and his administration if they stand in the way of fulfilling the far-left’s radical agenda to curb “climate change.”
Against actual science and facts, Joe Biden immediately canceled the Keystone Pipeline XL which not only resulted in the loss of upwards of 50,000 high-paying jobs but will now force the US and Canada to once again rely on foreign entities for oil.
It was a slap in the face to Canada and to the unions.
TC Energy Corp., the Canadian company that shares ownership of the pipeline with the Alberta government had projected an estimated 10,000 jobs would be created in 2021 alone due to the construction of the pipeline. That’s in addition to the already 1,000 established jobs the pipeline has created.
Once the pipeline was complete, an estimated 42,000 jobs were expected to be created. That’s no small number but now Joe Biden alone has ensured it will never come to fruition.
Biden cancelled the permit for the Keystone XL Pipeline. Just a stroke of the pen for Joe but now 42,000 union jobs are gone, American independence on oil is gone and we are back to depending on foreign nations. Im looking at every Republican “do-gooder” right now.

Several unions spoke out after Biden’s actions, many of which used to be proudly pro-Trump.
“In revoking this permit, the Biden Administration has chosen to listen to the voices of fringe activists instead of union members and the American consumer on Day 1,” Mark McManus, the president of the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters said in a statement Thursday.
“Sadly, the Biden Administration has now put thousands of union workers out of work. For the average American family, it means energy costs will go up and communities will no longer see the local investments that come with pipeline construction.”
When we take a stroll down memory lane, however, we find that the United Association Union actually supported Joe Biden last year and pushed his agenda numerous times:
We don't sit on the sidelines at the UA. That's why we're endorsing @JoeBiden.
On infrastructure, energy, retirement security, and union rights, Joe will make sure UA members have a seat at the table – and he'll help us win more work with good wages and benefits. pic.twitter.com/Up9VymMrO4

"This endorsement is about putting UA members to work and fighting for fair wages and good benefits. Under a Biden Administration, that’s exactly what we’ll get," said General President Mark McManus.

The North American Building Trades Unions are also expressing their disappointment and frustrations with Biden’s canceling of the pipeline.
Union president Sean McGarvey issued a statement Thursday saying his union is “deeply disappointed in the decision to cancel” the pipeline permit on Biden’s very first day in office.
They called out “environmental ideologues” who have “now prevailed” and put over a thousand union workers out of their jobs.
His statement went on to say that Biden’s first day in office was “filled with hope and optimism for so many Americans and people around the world” but in the end he was forced to acknowledge that Biden’s actions have caused “uncertainty and anxiety” in the midst of the pandemic that has already caused enough destruction to the livelihoods of millions of Americans.
However, just like the UA, this union also endorsed Biden last year and heavily promoted him. When Biden “won” the election they celebrated him as being the most voted for president in US history.
Joe Biden has officially surpassed the popular vote Barack Obama had in 2008. He’s now gotten more votes than ANY presidential candidate in history.

The Laborers’ International Union of North America has also issued a statement saying that Biden’s decision to cancel the pipeline is “both insulting and disappointing” and will result in thousands of their union workers to lose out on “good-paying, middle-class family-supporting jobs.”
“By blocking this 100-percent union project, and pandering to environmental extremists, a thousand union jobs will immediately vanish and 10,000 additional jobs will be foregone.”
The LIUNA, however, was also all in for Joe Biden last year:
#LIUNA proudly endorses @JoeBiden & @KamalaHarris for President & Vice President. As we celebrate #LaborDay2020 and remember the strife & struggle of those who came before us, Biden & Harris stand out as the blue-collar candidates.

Elections MATTER. Elect candidates that will fight for good jobs! #LIUNAVotes2020

The union certainly was right. Elections do matter. Now they are living with the very real consequences of their decision to support Biden. Their support of Joe Biden has come at the cost of literally thousands of good-paying jobs.
Joe Biden is just getting started, too. He has no concern whatsoever for Americans’ jobs. The loss of these jobs is surely tragic and these workers only have their union leaders to thank for their ignorant and blind support of a man who was so obviously never going to do a darn thing for union workers if elected.
On Twitter(dot)com you can watch people's individual lives be destroyed as Joe Biden costs them their jobs.
And this is still technically day one. 🌈 pic.twitter.com/I8cc3TS4Oe
