(Liberty Bell) – George Conway is doing a lot of mental and verbal gymnastics to try and distance himself from his disgraced former colleague and founder of the Lincoln Project John Weaver, who is currently dealing with allegations of attempting to groom young men.
As one of the usual Trump-trashing segments on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program came to a close, Mike Brzezinski, who seemed to be downright apologetic, stated she would be “remiss” if she didn’t ask Conway about Weaver who currently has 21 allegations of harassment by men of various ages, including some who were underage. According to many, this activity was an “open secret.”
BizPacReview says that Conway, who is the husband of Kellyanne Conway, responded by saying, “It’s terrible and awful and appalling and unfathomable. I didn’t know John very well. I, frankly, only spoke to him a couple times on the phone early on in the Lincoln Project. It’s almost — I don’t even know what to say. It’s just terrible. It leaves me speechless, frankly.”
This statement comes off as more than a little disingenuous, doesn’t it? It seems highly unlikely that Conway and many of his fellow anti-Trumpers over at the Lincoln Project were unaware of the activities that Weaver was participating in with these men. What’s shameful is that if they did really know about it and did nothing to stop it.
Over the weekend, the Lincoln Project attempted to save face by denouncing John Weaver, who has now left the group, calling him as “predator, a liar, and an abuser.” Yeah. Sorry. This is too little, too late. If they really meant this they would’ve exposed him a long time ago and ensured that he was held accountable for his actions. That didn’t happen.

In his reaction to the “Morning Joe” segment, media columnist Joe Concha was one of the first individuals to note that he didn’t think Conway was being completely truthful.
They were cofounders. If these two started a company and didn’t know each other very well, it pretty much proves it truly was a scam to make money. https://t.co/qCpcv4YFd7

“Here’s George Conway lying on national TV saying he didn’t know fellow co-founder of The Lincoln Project very well. In a related story, here’s a NY Times op-Ed he collaborated with Weaver on that Conway heavily promoted and touted. Utterly laughable,” he posted on Twitter.
Many folks on Twitter share Concha’s sentiments about Conway.
Weird. Here are their bylines together on a New York Times op-ed. pic.twitter.com/996PGoPlPg

What the hell was Kellyanne thinking?

It was so obvious he was lying.

"I didn't know John very well."
John Weaver and George Conway were co-founders of the Lincoln Project. He wasn't just some random guy.

Of course he lied and she asked no follow up questions

It’s laughable until you realize the heart of it was George Conway and the other cofounders enabling a child sex predator

Not believable, the grifters with @ProjectLincoln had more than fleeting suspicions & ignored them to continue the grift.

"We Lincoln Project Founders – like Wilson and I and Pedo Weaver…we are the smartest, most aware men in the room – no matter what room we are in….that's why we appear on every show, right? …but hey yeah, I don't know nothing about our fellow founder!"

That’s the thing that’s amusing me. Suddenly Trump haters forget the standards they held him and almost everyone who worked with him to and let things like this slide. Anyway America is the most hypocritical country on earth

if you believe Conway "didn't know" LP CO-FOUNDER weaver "very well" I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
how TF do you co-founder a group with someone and "only speak a couple times"?

If there’s one thing people can recognize, it’s a dirty, rotten liar. And that’s precisely the way Conway comes across in the segment. How does a man help co-found an organization and not really know the guy he’s building it with? That seems like a pretty horrible way to found something, doesn’t it?
