(Liberty Bell) – There’s nothing more entertaining than when liberals have a meltdown over words that were originally spewed by one of their revered and celebrated leaders.
Thursday night, liberals on Twitter became completely unglued when they read what they thought was an incitement of violence against hailed New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
The best part is it was a quote from Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) that was used by a fake account and directed at Gov. Cuomo who has come under fire over a new report that exposed COVID deaths in the state have been grossly undercounted.
The New York Attorney General released the report which stated that the Cuomo administration had underreported COVID nursing home deaths by as much as 50%.
Waters’ quote used by the fake Twitter account CuomoWatch to troll leftists was altered slightly to include Gov. Cuomo’s name instead of President Trump’s, whom Waters had originally spoken the words in regards to.
The tweet went viral after the release of the NY attorney general’s report. It read, “If you see anybody from the Cuomo administration in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
Liberals had a complete meltdown. These words were apparently perfectly fine with Democrats when they were spoken by Maxine Waters in regards to President Trump but when they thought they were directed at Gov. Cuomo it appeared to be a different story revealing the blatant double standards leftists live by.
The best part is, liberals fell for the tweet in epic fashion. New York Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul took the bait hard and totally lambasted the tweet.
“This is encouraging violence against public officials – plain & simple. Absolutely disgusting. No tolerance for this. Haven’t we learned the lessons from Washington D.C. just weeks ago?” she tweeted:
Former Pete Buttigieg advisor Lis Smith tweeted that it was “way over the line. Especially in light of what happened at the Capitol on Jan. 6.” Liberals didn’t even realize they were being trolled and just assumed that the tweet was genuine.
New York State Senator Jamaal T. Bailey was also outraged over the tweet and diligently defended his fearless leader Cuomo. He responded: “This is more than tonedeaf, especially considering what’s happened in recent days. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. Read the room.”
Isn’t it entertaining how their knee-jerk response is to illicit the memory of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot rather than the countless Antifa and Black Lives Matter riots which went on for the better part of 2020.
Of course incitement to violence is only ever problematic when it’s supposedly being done by conservatives, or even just when it appears to be being done by conservatives.
NY State Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar was particularly indignant over the tweet and insisted that “this kind of incitement to violence against government leaders must stop.” It’s impossible to take these people seriously. Rajkumar even went as far as to say that those who make these kinds of threats against government officials “endanger our democracy,” adding, “This is not who we are and we can do better.”
Where was Rajkumar when Waters made these exact comments towards President Trump and his administration? Funny, we don’t recall any of these liberal zealots speaking out when Waters incited violence against the sitting President of the United States.
The liberal tantrum went on and on. NYC Council Speaker Corey Johnson stated that the events of Jan. 6 “have shown us more clearly than ever that words have consequences.” While Speaker of the New York State Assembly Carl Heastie said the words were “appalling and dangerous.”
The outrage goes on and on in truly hilarious fashion. Liberals have proven just how hypocritical and out of touch they really are.
