Coronavirus Given New Name By The WHO – The Reason Is Truly Unbelievable

(Liberty Bell) – The World Health Organization is really stepping up the fight against the dangerous and deadly coronavirus that has created a world health crisis. The WHO has decided the best way to fight this infectious disease is to give it a new name because the last thing the world needs is more stigmatization of Chinese people. (insert eye roll here)

Paul Joseph Watson with Summit News weighed in on this absurdity:

Yes, because the first thing a global health authority tasked with preventing a mass deadly virus outbreak should be concerned about is political correctness.

The coronavirus has been officially named ‘COVID-19’ because according to the WHO, “We had to find a name that did not refer to a geographical location, an animal, an individual or group of people.”

“Having a name matters to prevent the use of other names that can be inaccurate or stigmatizing,” the organization added.

The name change is in line with the WHO’s official statement when they first declared coronavirus to be a global emergency, which warned countries against any actions that would “promote stigma or discrimination” and asserted that maintaining the “international traffic” of people was essential and should not be interfered with.

Respondents to the name change on Twitter weren’t impressed.

“Damn, I was going to name ChinamanNastyVirus-20,” commented one.

“Wait so avoiding stigma is more important than saving lives??” asked another.

“At this age, people are just gonna refer to it as coronavirus or that virus from China bcos they kept eating the fvcking bats,” remarked another user.

The WHO is apparently a liberal organization more concerned with global feelings and sentiment rather than health safety and stopping this world health emergency. This is the same organization who demanded we show appreciation and gratitude to the leader of China, authoritarian dictator Xi Jinping, for his remarkable response and handling of this coronavirus outbreak.

We ought to praise Jinping despite the fact that he currently has hundreds of thousands of his own citizens imprisoned in concentration camps where they are routinely beaten, raped, tortured, and killed. Not to mention, the rest of the world is pretty sure China has been blatantly lying about the severity of the coronavirus, but sure, we’ll get right on revering him as a world hero. I digress.

Now, Chinese people are running around with sticks beating stray dogs to death out of fear of the spreading of the coronavirus but the WHO is more concerned with the name and the fact that Chinese people may get offended if the world believes the virus started there.

The fact is, the virus did start there and it’s rapidly spreading around the world. Maybe the WHO should concern themselves more with truth and science and condemn the practice of eating dirty, bacteria-infested bats so that a deadly outbreak like this doesn’t happen in the future.

Maybe the WHO should have the courage and discernment to set cultures and people straight when they are doing unhealthy, unsanitary, potentially dangerous things so that deadly outbreaks like this can be prevented. Is preventing world health emergencies before they start too far out of the purview of the World Health Organization?

Look, we’re not judging the Chinese people for eating dirty, cave-dwelling flying rodents, we’re just saying, maybe in the future, don’t do that. In the meantime, we’ll continue to call it the “coronavirus” in the most nonjudgmental, loving way possible.
