(Liberty Bell) – One of the most precious rights we have as individuals is a fair trial where we will be judged by a panel of our peers, regular Americans. A fair trial is seemingly harder and harder to come by thanks to progressives who have continued to degrade the legal system as a means of pushing radical social justice causes.
A good case in point is covered in a story put out by the Gateway Pundit. According to GP there was a juror in the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged with causing the death of George Floyd, who is a passionate Black Lives Matter activist who somehow managed to convince the judge presiding over the case that he was “impartial.”
Juror #52, who has officially been identified as Brandon Mitchell, is now trying to encourage other activists to try and get on juries so they can “spark some change.” In other words, he’s asking folks to get involved in cases where they’ve already made up their mind on what verdict to pursue, regardless of where the evidence might lead, as long as it promotes the BLM agenda.
That, friends, would be the death of a fair trial as protected under the Constitution.
When the jury for the case was being selected, Mitchell claimed he had very little knowledge of the facts involved in the incident. However, a photograph exists showing Mitchell rocking a shirt last August that said, “Get off your knee off our necks,” along with “BLM.”
Kind of sounds like he knew exactly what was going down in this case, doesn’t it?
During an interview conducted with Get Up! Mornings With Erica Campbell on April 27, Mitchell said, “I mean it’s important if we wanna see some change, we wanna see some things going different, we gotta into these avenues, get into these rooms to try to spark some change. Jury duty is one of those things. Jury duty. Voting. All of those things we gotta do.”

“Minneapolis’ FOX 9 reporter Paul Blume reported in March that ‘Judge Cahill asked Juror #52, whether he heard anything about the #GeorgeFloyd civil case. He says, no. He explained hearing some basic info about trial dates, etc… from the news in recent months, but nothing that would keep him from serving as impartial juror. #ChauvinTrial,'” GP reports.
“Juror #52 wrote in his jury questionnaire that he wondered why other police officers at the scene did not intervene in #GeorgeFloyd deadly arrest. He recognizes the historic nature of the case. Defense says he is an acceptable juror. So state’s turn to question,” Blume went on to add.

Schleicher & Blackwell for the prosecution: w/ Schleicher up first, then Blackwell on rebuttal.

If you didn’t already distrust the criminal justice system in the United States, you probably will now. It’s unfortunate that the left cares so little for our way of life here that they are willing to destroy the very idea of a fair trial, just so they can make themselves feel better.
They don’t seem to realize they are hurting themselves in the long run.
